Welcome to the web site of David McGill Photography, a photo library established in 1990 and based in the Oxfordshire village of Hook Norton.

The emphasis is on images from Oxfordshire and The Cotswolds, however, material is held from other parts of the UK and further afield. Since 2003 the library has been fully digital and continues to expand. The original transparencies have been scanned and are available as digital files. The material held covers the type of image researchers come to expect, but there are some more out of the ordinary. Anything that looks unusual is photographed in the hope that someone somewhere may be looking for it! In addition to maintaining the library, David is also represented by Alamy, Art Directors & TRIP, Collections, Lebrecht and Writer Pictures. See the Links page for more details.

All images are offered worldwide for licensed reproduction and may also be ordered as prints for private display. Images can also be viewed on the site Artfair365, which is an online gallery selling works on behalf of photographers, artists and illustrators. Similarly photographs available for sale can be viewed on the On-Line Gallery web site. Links to David’s pages on these sites can be found on the Contact/Links page.

Space prevents a large volume of images to be displayed on this site, so if there is something you require please contact the library either by following the Contact link or sending an e-mail to info@davidmcgill.co.uk .

Press and PR work is also undertaken as is some types of photo restoration. Small product photography is also carried out.

For the past three years David has exhibited during Oxfordshire Artweeks, which gives the public an opportunity to see his work directly as, unfortunately, not all images published in the media are given bylines. In Summer 2009 he will be one of four photographers holding a joint exhibition at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury. This show is entitled “Somewhere Different” and will be held from 7th to 26th July.
