Welcome to David McGill Photography, a photo library established in 1990 and based in the Oxfordshire village of Hook Norton.
The main function of the library is the supply of images from Oxfordshire and The Cotswolds, however, material is held from other parts of the UK and from further afield. Since 2003 the library has been fully digital, the original transparencies having been scanned and now available as digital files. The material held covers the type of images researchers come to expect, but there are some more out of the ordinary. Anything that looks unusual is photographed in the hope that someone somewhere may be looking for it! In addition to maintaining the library David is also represented by Alamy, Collections, Art Directors & TRIP, Lebrecht and Writer Pictures.
Space prevents a larger volume of images to be displayed on this site, so if there is something you require please contact the library. A further selection of work is shown on the Facebook page of David McGill Photography.
In addition to the landscape and topographical images, Press and PR work is also undertaken as is some types of photo restoration.
Recently exhibitions have taken up some of David's time. Since 2007 he has taken part in Oxfordshire Artweeks which gives the public an opportunity to see his work directly, as unfortunately, not all images in the media are given bylines. David has also had work exhibited at Banbury Museum, The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury and The Persian Shop, Chipping Norton.
In recent months I have been experimenting with studio shots. Some examples are shown in the Studio Gallery.
